Each week William Tell Elementary celebrates "Trivia Tuesday" with Mrs. Noble asking a trivia question on morning announcements. Classrooms then try to be the first to call the office with the correct response. The winning class gets to keep the Trivia Trophy for the week. This morning the students were asked, "What insect can essentially 'tell' the temperature by the rate at which it chirps?" Mr. DuPont's kindergarten classroom was the first class to call in with "cricket." This is quite impressive since the question was open to all K-6 classrooms. Mr. DuPont shared, "This is like getting an Academy Award! The students were soooo thrilled that we finally won!" Congratulations Mr. DuPont's class!

Patsy Alvey, representing the Lafayette Springs Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), announced that Elizabeth Butler was the Perry County winner of the 6th grade DAR essay contest. The topic was "Women in the American Revolution." Congratulations, Elizabeth!

It's National School Breakfast Week, and the fabulous cafeteria staff members at William Tell Elementary and Tell City Junior High are cooking up nutritious breakfasts to jumpstart the day for our students. Students at William Tell Elementary have a special visitor this week! They are also enjoying the daily prizes. Who will win the grand prize?

These students were selected as banner winners for the culminating project for Mrs.Elrhanjaoui’s Art Integration grant. This grant allowed for a community partnership with Tell City Regional Arts and was partnered with Colleen Reed. In this project, students had to draw what reminded them of home. In a difficult task, seven winners were selected to have banners displayed on the light poles on Main Street. Congratulations from left to right Cruz Lawalin, Elise Epple, Leah Scott, Eleanor Risse, Carmen McMahan, Journee Durbin, and Isaac Durchholz. Watch for their banners on Main Street!

While winter isn't officially upon us, the low temperatures and snowfall means it's time to remind everyone to make sure your contact information is up to date, as are your emergency dismissal plans. Please contact your school office to make sure our information is up to date. In the event of delay, early dismissal, or school closure announcements will be made via our school messaging service, Facebook, and local news stations. Stay warm, Marksmen!

The William Tell Elementary staff is having some fun with the Secret Spirit Days where students guess the staff theme each day this week. We thought we would make it easy on them early in the week. They'll never guess the themes the rest of the week, or will they?

Thank you, Veterans! We are so appreciative that TCHS graduate and Army Sergeant Christian Hagan, who just returned from Korea, shared his story with the William Tell Elementary students.

Congratulations, 3rd grade teacher Sarah Elrhanjaoui!

Wear a jersey for Josiah on Friday and donate to William Tell Elementary kindergarten student Josiah S. who is in Norton's Hospital awaiting surgery to remove a tumor from his pancreas. We support you and your family, Josiah!

Our Kindness Kickoff is off to a great start! We are giving students experiences they will hopefully never forget. Parents, please reinforce our message at home:
We will not bully others.
We help students who are bullied.
We will include students who are easily left out.
When we know somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home.
Thank you, Tell City Fire Department, for making this day possible! Be kind to one another to help make the world a better place!

Patti is now 303 pounds!
